Breast Cancer
Every men and women
should know about breast cancer and breast cancer symptoms. Most people who
have breast cancer symptoms and signs will initially notice only one or two,
and the presence of these symptoms and signs do not automatically mean that you
have breast cancer.
The first symptomand sign of breast cancer most women notice is lump or an area of thickened
tissue in their breast. Most (nearly 90%) breast lumps are not breast cancers.
By performing the monthly breast self –exams, you will be able to more easily
identify any changes in your breast. Be sure to talk to your healthcare
professional if you notice anything unusual.
According to the
American cancer Society, any of the following changes in the breast can be symptoms of breast cancer.
Signs and Symptoms of Breast Cancer
1. Breast pain
2. Skin irritation
or dimpling
3. Swelling of all
the part of the breast
4. Nipple pain or
nipple turning inward
5. Scaliness,
redness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
6. A lump in the underarm
area
7. A nipple
discharge other than breast milk

Usually breast pain
isn’t a symptom of breast cancer.

It’s very important
to remember that all the lumps should be investigated by a healthcare
professional, but not all lumps are cancerous.
3. Skin irritation or dimpling
4. Scaliness, redness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
Skin of the breast, areola, or nipple that
becomes scaly, red ,or swollen or may have ridges or pitting resembling the skin
of an orange.
I have some symptoms, is it likely to be cancer?
First all the signs
or symptoms are not breast cancer or cancer. But any breast cancer symptom you
find should be investigated as soon as it is discovered. If you have any of
these symptoms, you should tell your healthcare provider so that the problem
can be diagnosed and treated.
